The Season 8 of Fortnite has launched a few days ago. It will last just over 60 days in total. This time around, it’s ninjas versus pirates. Yes, the famous internet meme theme. This time Fornite community will officially find out who is faster, better and stronger. This might be the new age where we finally find out the answer.
I’d say that’s a pretty goofy theme, just what Fortnite needs. I think the direction is just right and the next season might be even more interesting as Fornite matures as a battle royale mostly played by teenagers. The last season (11) was all about winter, but now it’s time for another direction. What is Ninja doing now?
Fortnite was supposed to be the first game powered by Unreal Engine 4, but it was delayed. This pushed some other games forward. Epic Games is not working on development of the next Unreal Tournament anymore. All team resources have been moved to support Fortnite. The current state of the game will still be available on the store. After canceling Paragon, Unreal Tournament is the second sacrifice to the glory of Fortnite.
Epic Games is working with GoG (good old games store) to offer most of the old UT games so people can get their hands and play the old titles if they so desire.
I just hope Epic Games doesn’t go the route of Valve in the far future where they don’t even make any games anymore.
Epic Games has enabled gifting functionality that will last about 1 week from now. For this limited time you can purchase items from the Fortnite store and gift them to your fellow Fortnite players. You can achieve this by selecting “Buy As A Gift” option in the store. To be able to use the gifting feature, you should read this epic games post and follow the instructions.
If you really don’t like gifts for any reason, you can disable the ability to receive gifts from anybody in Account Settings page in game. Warning: this will make you unable to get any gifts at all. Not sure why would you want to do this, but in case you really hate gifts, that is how you do it. Gifting is [...]
